In this course we will review the literature on language changes associated with healthy aging and those associated with the dementias, particularly Alzheimer's Dementia and the Primary Progressive Aphasias. We will also consider the cognitive phenomena, themselves affected by dementia, that underlie declines in language and communication in the dementias.
